What spot in WDW feels most like it belongs just to you? E-mail

Readers share their favorite spots to get away to, both in real life and in their dreams.

I recently posed this question on Twitter, Facebook, and here on the web site:

"What spot in any Walt Disney World park feels most like it belongs just to you?"

I purposely kept my meaning ambiguous, just to see what sort of answers I would get, and I was very happy with the variety of responses!

Peace and quiet...

Some took the question to mean "What part of the park is so empty, it feels like your own personal refuge?"

As crowded as the parks can get, there are plenty of areas which remain relatively un-crowded throughout the day. These places are great for a quick recharge, or just an escape from the noise and hustle and bustle.

"The Discovery Island Trails at AK. Grab a bench, sit and enjoy the quiet!"

"The back courts of Morocco. There is never anybody back there and it is so peaceful and calming!"

"The spot at WDW that feels like it belongs to me is the courtyard in back of UK pavilion where British Invasion plays."
-- FarfsGirl (via Twitter)

"If you time it just right, you can have a nice quiet meal at the Pinnochio Village Haus. Something about that music (Polka? yodeling?) really does it for me. Bliss!"
-- Gerard F. (via email)

"The pre-show area of The Tiki Room is a nice place to relax in the middle of a hot day. The only things missing are chairs. I like to close my eyes and listen to the falling water and the pseudo-tropical music in that queue before the line fills up with people."
-- Sam B. (via email)

Tried and true

Some readers interpreted the question as "What part of the park is your favorite?"

"Pirates of Caribbean ride at Magic Kingdom"
-- Disney_Orlando (via Twitter)

"Cinderella's castle"
-- Patricia L. (via Facebook)

"Answer to your question: *anywhere* in Blizzard Beach..."
-- gvennerholm (via Twitter)

"Peter Pan's Flight belongs to me. Everyone in line is a guest at *my* attraction. Seriously, though, no other attraction at MK is so rich with blacklit goodness, not to mention a nifty 'flying' ride system. I *love* the feeling of winding through the clouds over London, and around Neverland."
-- Jason F. (via email)

"The tree of life..."
-- Tanya F. (via Facebook)

"it's a small world"

Daydream retreats

A subset of these answers, which I had not even considered when I posed the question, was an interpretation along the lines of "What part of WDW do you return to when you daydream about the parks?"

Everyone has moments from a trip which, for reasons only they can explain or understand, stick with them long after their trip is over. It may only be a brief memory of excitement or calm, a certain magical ambience, a piece of background area music, or even just a general feeling of euphoria which is indelibly linked to an area of the parks. Moments like these become highly personalized memories.

"I have an odd personal obsession with the portraits of the stretching rooms of the Haunted Mansion. Those fake paintings and the striped walls *are* the Magic Kingdom to me."
-- Laura K. (via email)

"Germany at night after Illuminations."
-- elisabethwithns (via Twitter)

"My spot at Walt Disney World is Cinderella's fountain behind the castle. It has a statue of Cinderella with a bird perched on one hand, along with her mouse friends Jaq and Gus."
--Sandra W. (via email)

"The walkway that crosses over the 'water hazards' of Future World (especially at night after Illuminations) is one of my favorite places to escape to when I think about the parks. I'm not sure why."
-- David S. (via email)

"There's a spot at the base of the Tree of Life which I always seem to return to (in my imagination at least). The way the Tree is lit up at dusk and early evening is just too beautiful for words. That place, even when it's crowded with people feels like it's mine."
-- Julia B. (via email)

These are only the tip of the tip of the iceberg, for sure. What is your spot at Walt Disney World?
