A WDW-filed construction notice may have spilled the beans on this secretive refurb!

The Orlando Sentinel has this scoop!

The resort last week filed a construction notice thought to be tied to the Magic Kingdom's indoor coaster; it calls for the installation of an "interactive queue" and audio-visual upgrades. The notice has touched off speculation that Space Mountain could be in line for an electronic-game-filled queue similar to the one Disney installed at Epcot's Soarin' in 2007.

WDWDREAMING.COM'S COMMENTARY: To be honest, I haven't been keeping hopes too high over changes to the attraction that may occur during this refurb. Rehabs are usually done out of necessity -- maintenance, new tracks, etc. -- and any additional visible changes are secondary. However, given Space Mountain's high profile, and the costs and time required to close it down, I'm not surprised that WDI is doing some things to make the maintenance effort "worth it" to guests. We'll keep you posted as more details emerge. November 21 can't come fast enough!
