The Disney Parks Blog confirmed the rumors of an in-park role playing game set right in the heart of Walt Disney World. Called "Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom," the game will take guests on an adventure to defeat an army of Disney villains. Merlin the magician will recruit guests and provide maps and clues to aid them on their quest. ![]() This is not the first time Disney has hosted in-park adventures. The Virtual Magic Kingdom quests (tied to the online game which ended in 2008) took players on various park-wide scavenger hunts. More recently, there is the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure which debuted in Epcot in 2009. That game features multiple quests which reveal hidden interactive elements throughout the World Showcase. The Disney Dream cruise ship features the Midship Detective Agency, a scavenger hunt mystery game which utilizes "living" Enchanted Art throughout the ship. Could we expect to see adventures similar to these in the Magic Kingdom? ![]() "Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom" is scheduled to debut in early 2012, but, according to Disney Parks Blog, early hints of what's to come will be appearing in Adventureland soon!
