The temporary exhibit replaces the now-defunct Virgin Megastore.

From The Examiner:

"Diana - The People's Princess" will be one of the largest collections of royal dresses and rare, authentic royal artifacts in America, including five dresses worn by the Princess of Wales rarely exhibited for public viewing.

The exhibit is said to include a Royal Doulton figurine of Diana in an exact replica of her wedding dress, the black velvet V-neck designed by Bruce Oldfield worn by Diana for her 1985 official portrait and a three-foot doll of Diana as a child created in tribute to Diana by the Great American Doll Company in 1998.

EMMETT'S COMMENTARY:

Hard to believe it's been 12 years since Diana's death. The timing and placement of this attraction at Disney seems a bit odd, but given the recent major changes to Downtown Disney -- the closures of the Pleasure Island clubs and the opening of the Characters in Flight balloon ride attraction -- it's not surprising that Disney would use this time to try out some non-traditional tourism offerings. Let's hope the permanent replacements that come in the next few years keep drawing people to DTD.
