According to Central Florida News 13, Walt Disney World will be retiring the monorail colors Purple and Pink, following their involvement in a post-July 4 collision that killed cast member Austin Wuennenberg. Parts from both monorails have been combined to form a new monorail: Teal. The decision ends much speculation among park fans that either Wuennenberg's Monorail Purple or the other vehicle Monorail Pink would be renamed or removed from service permanently.

The new monorail brings the number in the fleet back up to 11. Before the accident, there had been 12 trains: Red, Coral, Orange, Gold, Yellow, Lime, Green, Blue, Silver, Black, Purple, Pink. According to Disney, Teal will be in service in the next few months, with another new monorail joining the fleet in 2010.
